The EcoNet WiFi connection in the hot water heat pump crashes when there is a power outage and doesn’t automatically reconnect when the power is restored. I purchased the Rheem hot water heater so that I could control it via its EcoNet smart phone app while I’m away from the house. After a power failure (which is common where I live), I can’t control the hot water heater remotely. I’ve been told by Rheem customer service that I have to be at the house to reconnect the Rheem water heater to the WIFI router in the house, which negates the reason I purchased it in the first place.
