This store is less than a half mile from my house, so I'm here way more often than the other two grocery stores in town. Bashas is usually my first choice for picking things up, and if you're a member you can get some pretty good deals.

FAQs

What is Bashas in Arizona?
Bashas’ Supermarkets are traditional grocery stores. The company competes primarily against Kroger-owned, Arizona-based Fry’s Food and Drug, along with Albertsons and Safeway locations in Arizona. Bashas’ Diné Markets are located on the Navajo Nation.

Where is Bashas family from?
Eddie Basha’s life hasn’t always been one of affluence. His grandparents were Lebanese immigrants who came to the United States in 1884. Two years before statehood, in 1910, Mr. Basha’s grandparents opened a general store in Ray, Arizona Territory.

Is Food City only in AZ?
As of October 2022, K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. operates 153 retail outlets (132 Food City stores, 6 Super Dollar Food Centers, 4 Wine & Spirits stores, 5 Fresh n’ Lows, 1 Cooke’s Food Store and Pharmacy, and 5 convenience stores) in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.

What is Arizona best known for food?
When it comes to food, Arizona is known for Fry Bread and the invention of Chimichangas. But I also wanted to give a nod to the desserts by making Nopales (a grilled cactus and corn salad). Sopapillas and Sonoran hot dogs are also some of the foods that Arizona is famous for.
